Wow! I can't believe it is March already. I am officially ready for spring and warmer weather. This Florida girl is not used to snow or 30 degree weather and I am ready for winter to go away. Let's see, Garrett has picked up a new phrase these days and its not enough to just tell it to you, you have to hear the attitude behind it. I think his teacher must say it because he did not pick it up from me, Dannys mom or Danny so that just leaves his teacher.
He also uses it in the correct context which makes it even cuter. For instance he uses it when he is surprised by something like the other day we said "Garrett, look there goes the kitty" and he says "Ohhhhh m'gosh" just like that-the "o" sound is really long and then the rest. It cracks us up. He is talking in sentences and it is amazing how much he knows. This weekend we took him to the Tyler zoo (It was his 1st zoo trip) and he loved it! We were talking to him about seeing the "ammals" for 2 days prior and he loved his 1st zoo trip. They Tyler zoo is small but very nice with great walkways. It took about 2 hours to see everything and it was just perfect because my back lasted that long but was starting to get uncomfortable. Also the animals would come right up to the glass which he loved and they had 2 white tigers which are my favorite.
While we were there, we came upon a family that was standing still at an exhibit where there were whitetail deer and longhorns. We noticed that all 4 of the children were taking pics with their cell phones. Apparently mom and grandma were nearby sitting on a bench. As we got closer, the dad was shaking his head and laughing and told us that of the whole zoo, their kids had spent 30 whole minutes there watching....(drumroll please) ...a squirrell!. We laughed so hard. It was really funny. The squirrell was very tame (as I am sure people feed him all day) and was going right up to the children and playing and putting on a little show for them. It was adorable and they were taking all kinds of pictures of him and of course, Garrett became fascinated as well. The father jokingly said that no way was he gonna pay $8.50 again for his kids to see a squirrell. It was pretty funny! I have always loved the zoo and I was glad to see Garrett having so much fun. It was also beautiful weather for a zoo visit. (Near 60 degrees-not 2 hot or 2 cold but nice).
We had gone to Tyler to see Dannys grandma Marie who turned 82 this weekend and who looks like 60 by the way. She says she uses Oil of Olay and I keep forgetting to pick some up. If I look half as good as her at that age I will be happy. They sang to her at the restaurant and announced her birthday and a guy at another table leaned over and said "You don't look anywhere near your age". I hope someday someone says that to me! She is a sweetheart and Garrett went right to her and hugged and kissed her even though he had not seen her in awhile and is usually shy. It was sweet.
Dannys job is going great. They had an electrical fire the other night and so he had a little excitement but it was caught early and noone was hurt so that was good.
My insurance denied my surgery again yesterday so please please please keep me in your prayers. I do need it quite badly according to my surgeon and them putting it off is only going to make things worse. My doctor will be talking to their doctor tomorrow so please pray something can get accomplished at that meeting. I am trying to stay positive but the whole situation is discouraging and sometimes when I am hurting really bad I feel like I don't know how much more I can take. I know God is in control and patience is a virtue but I do covet your prayers. I want to be pain free and run around and play with my little boy without pain. I hope everyone is well and ready to enjoy summer. I can't wait for the blue bonnets to bloom here in Texas, they are so beautiful. Take care everyone. Love you all!
