The mystery of the missing keys...

Ok so there has been a developing mystery at the Stiltz home over the last month or so. Danny and I have 2 expensive sets of keys for my car-the ones that are like $150 a piece. (We got the dealer to throw in an extra one when we bought the car but he told us it's that much to replace them so to guard them with our life-they are also the ones with the clickers and alarms and all that jazz.) There is a house key on both key rings.
Anyway since I am the main driver, I have the main set of keys and the spare set is in the kitchen with all of our other keys in a kitchen drawer there. We rarely need them-if Danny drives my car without me which is rare, he will use them otherwise they aren't used much. This winter though, we found they came in handy for in the mornings when Garrett and I were getting ready to to school/work.
I would run out in the cold, put the key in the car and turn on the heat to get the car warmed up (yes we have a garage like most folks but no our car won't fit in it-please don't ask me about this-I get tired when I talk about how much "great Stuff" is stored there while my nice car is outside in the cold/snow.)
Ok so back to the story (sorry for my little rant) I use my set of keys to start the car and turn on the heat, then lock the doors and run back inside while the car warms up.I get Garrett and myself ready to go with our jackets and such and grab the spare set of keys to Lock the front door of the house with and then open the car and let us in-this way we don't have to shut the car off to use that key to lock the front door and let all the cold air back in the car. Genius right? Then every night when I got back home from work I would return the key to it's rightful drawer in the kitchen so it would be there when I needed it the next time.
So this was what I did everyday to try and keep us as warm and comfy as possible on those cold windy days this winter-even snowy on a couple days here in Texas this year. Anyways fast forward to the 1st week of spring-sometime earlier last month, (March) we had SNOW!!!!
It was unexpected as the weather had been warmer but anyway there it was so we followed our normal routine with the keys but I had been out of practice for several weeks due to the nicer weather and apparently I forgot to put the keys back in the drawer where they belonged.
A couple days pass and Danny wants to run a quick errand and take my car-I tell him-hang on a sec, I have those spare keys of yours in my purse-at which point I search my whole purse and cannot find them.

Long story short-it has been WW III around the house for the last month. Danny has given me an earful every chance he could about my being responsible for things and losing things and how expensive they are going to be to replace blah blah blah while I continued to tell him-I did not lose them, I never took them out of my purse and then suggest that maybe he took them out to use them and misplaced them somewhere as I know for a fact that the last place I saw them was in my purse. We go round and round and round and then started turning the house upside down-checking under the beds, sinks, kitchen cabinets, closets, clothes pockets, Garrett's room and toy box (he has a play set of real keys Danny gave him and isn't allowed to play in my purse but we checked nonetheless).
Anyway the bottom line is that these keys are M.I.A (missing in action) and nowhere to be found so we continue to argue about it:

Here's Me (Sarah) : Remember Danny dear, the time I couldn't find my blow dryer for a month? and you swore you didn't know where it was and I told you that you must have used it for something because I always keep it in the same place and we argued over it forever and after 2 months you sheepishly admitted to me that "Oop's I forgot I really did use it when I was cleaning out the freezer to make room for more deer meat and I needed to make sure I got it all dried out inside, here it is babe." "Sorry about that."

Here's Danny : well you forget things and lose things too. How about how your always losing things around the house and never remembering everyones birthdays or forgetting to set your alarm and waking up late (I will note here that I do forget where I put things from time to time and that items ocasionally get lost on my watch LOL) but I was 100 percent positive that I didn't remove those keys from my purse.

Well, yesterday dundundundun (drumroll) the mystery was solved and we were both right! He never moved it and I never misplaced it. Turns out (I know you all will laugh at this part) that yesterday I lost my cell phone for awhile. I was searching my purse for it and took everything out of my purse. Turns out there was a tear in the lining of my purse and guess what had fallen into the tear/hole in my purse lining? The missing keys! YAY!!!! So immediately I call Danny so we can celebrate upon which he says "I knew it was you who did something with them!" and I am like hey I told the truth- "The last time I had them they were in my purse, so I guess we were both right". Well, he doesn't see it quite the same that way I do but at least we found them and can both laugh about it a little! Isn't life fun?...
Now if I could only find my cell phone... hahaha (actually it was in the car, I found it later last night:)

Sometimes it's like I Love Lucy at our house (especially when I feel like running a bunch of Spanish words out of my mouth :) and that Danny and I are Fred and Ethel but I am glad life is fun for us and not boring!

On another little note, Garrett had a great Easter. He loved Easter egg hunting although I think he is confused how it works:) Grandpa Billy and Daddy hid all the eggs and then when Garrett came out he stood and waited for them to show him where each of the eggs was hidden, would then pick them up and yell "yay" or "i got it"! and put it in his basket. Then on to the next one. It was funny to watch. Apparently Grandpa Billy is a great Easter egg finder ! LOL :)
